On the night of Saturday, Miss Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad. She has won the 72nd title of the beauty pageant after a month-long competition that started with 108 women representing their countries. Opal Suchata received the crown from the previous titleholder, Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic, and was crowned Miss World 2025.
Opal Suchata becomes the First ever Thai woman to win the pageant title
After a month-long pageant, cultural showcases, and competition, the 22-year-old Opal Suchata becomes the first-ever Thai woman to be crowned at the Miss World Competition. Opal has previously participated in various beauty competitions in Thailand. Her first major achievement in the field of beauty was marked when she won Miss Rattanakosin in 2021. Later, she participated in other major competitions in the country, including Miss Universe Thailand, where she was the 2nd runner-up. Later, she represented Thailand in Mexico City for the Miss Universe title in 2024, where she ended up 3rd runner-up.

The background of Miss World 2025
Opal was born on 20 March 2003 to a family of hotel owners in Phuket. Her parents are Thanet Donkamnerd and Supatra Chuangsri. Due to her family business in Phuket, she has spent most of her life in the city.
Opal has majored in Chinese language, which she did at Triam Udom Suksa School. Currently, she is said to be pursuing a course in political science and international relations at Thammasat University in Bangkok. Her educational background in Chinese adds up to one more language to her speaking alongside Thai and English.
The Miss world 2025 was hosted in India
Miss World 2025 was hosted in India, marking the third time India hosted the beauty pageant. Earlier it was held in 1996 and 2023. This time Hyderabad hosted the pageant at the HITEX Exhibition Center from 7 May to 31 May.
The pageant was inaugurated, showing Indian cultural performances along with Telangana’s folk dance and tribal dance to showcase a cultural heritage. Along with this, various cultural and heritage tours were conducted. The contestants were taken to Buddhavanam at Nagarunasagar, where they immersed themselves in learning about Buddhist heritage. Another day, they went for a heritage walk in Hyderabad to see Charminar and local bazaars, which marked a wholesome and inclusive ground learning of the Indian culture and tradition. They all also went to explore a local art of handloom weaving, which gave them insights on how these local traditions have their own arts, and even in this modern world, people are still carrying forward their traditional art.
Indian Tradition and Art was experienced by the Pageant Contestants
The contestants also visited the Shilparaman arts and crafts village, where they had a hands-on experience with traditional art like pottery, paintings, and local dance forms.
Multiple competitions were held on different dates, and the winning contestants got to secure their positions in the top 40. The sports challenge was held on May 17, the talent challenge on May 22, the top model challenge on May 24, and beauty with a purpose on May 26. The victorious contestants of each competition secured their position in the top 40.

Nandini Gupta represented India

The Indian representative for the Miss World pageant was Nandini Gupta, hailing from Kota, Rajasthan. She has previously won Miss Rajasthan and Femina Miss India World, both in the year 2023. In this 72nd Miss World pageant, Nandini finished in the top 20 and in the top 5 for the Asia and Oceania region, but she could not make it further.
