According to a few reports, if Apple started manufacturing iPhones in the USA, then it may cost approximately 3000$, which is the third times of now. its 1000$ per iPhone now in India. That means if Apple started manufacturing in the USA, it may be a heavy loss for the Apple company because in the USA, labour costs are too high, and in India, labour costs are much lower for the Apple company.
Why did Trump give this anti-India statement?
When we are talking about this, we have to understand that Donald Trump is a president who came into the picture because of the mission Make America Great Again. And for that, they are trying to attract multiple companies to open their manufacturing units in the USA so the local people of the USA can get employment. Even for that reason, only Trump announced 245% tariffs on China.
After China, India is the next biggest country that can beat the USA in terms of economic growth. But Trump doesn’t want this. Not only Trump, but every big economy doesn’t want india will become the next manufacturing hub.
Can Apple afford to produce in the USA?
Apple can’t afford to produce in the USA due to the following reasons –
- High Labour cost – In the USA average labour cost is 44$ per hour, but in india average labour cost is approximately 350 to 500$ per month. That means if Apple started manufacturing in the USA, then the prices are going to increase, which could cause losses for Apple, and any company wants to avoid losses. Every businessman wants profit, and definitely Apple will not stop manufacturing in India due to profit reasons.
- They can lose a big market – If apple stopped manufacturing in india then the average cost of iPhone will be 3000$ and due to that pricing the sales of apple can go down and also indian’s can shift to other alternatives because now all indians are united and they can also stop buying iPhones because they stopped manufacturing in india.
